How Often Should Your Ducts Be Cleaned?

To ensure you have premium clean air - You should get your ducts cleaned every 2 to 5 years. Whilst this is a relatively wide time range, every scenario is different. If you have pets, Allergies, Asthma, more than 3 people in your home, smokers in the house or don’t get a chance to clean your home too often, then you’re probably going to need to get your ducts cleaned more frequently (i.e. every 2-3 years). If you live alone, don’t smoke and constantly clean your house, then you’ll probably only need to get your ducts cleaned every 3-5 years.

Over time, ductwork will develop a build-up of dirt that can include dust, bacteria and indoor pollutants such as mould spores. Older ductwork that has never been cleaned may also contain construction debris. When this is left it can affect the efficiency of ventilation systems and have a negative impact on the air quality.
